Over the weekend, your KRAA board met and determined that our summer events calendar needs to be revised for several reasons:
1) out of respect for and in support of our fellow Northeastern Georgian Bay community members dealing with recent events,
2) COVID, and
3) our American neighbours still are not back
Out of respect for those needing time to mourn & heal, we have decided to postpone our fireworks until Civic Holiday or Labour Day weekend. Hopefully, we can use them to welcome back our American neighbours and to provide another COVID friendly opportunity to let loose after what we’ve all been through this last year and a half. The Annual Boat Parade & the Kids’ Fishing Derby will go ahead as planned. The AGM will be virtual due to COVID event size limits and rescheduled to September to give everyone a better chance of having access to high speed internet. Community Picnic will be cancelled outright, due to COVID event size limits. See the summary (below) for the basics and click on the links to the events pages for full details:
July 3, 2021- Canada Day/4th of July fireworks – DEFERRED
July 3, 2021 – The Annual Boat Parade – as scheduled with COVID protocols
August 1, 2021 – Youth Fishing Derby – as scheduled with COVID protocols
August 1, 2021 – KRAA AGM – RESCHEDULED for Wednesday, September 22nd, via Zoom. More details to come.
